MR XIAOJIAN XING AND MISS YUSHAN ZHUare to be married today, 28th August 2024, at Hedsor House, Taplow. Xiaojian, son of Mr Zhuming Xing and Mrs Yuzhu Zhao of Shenyang, China, and Yushan, daughter of Mr Chaosheng Zhu and Mrs Quanlai Qi of Wuxi, China.
BARCLAY Ian Glen. At home on 17th August 2024. Glen was much loved by his wife Jo, late wife Mandy, stepchildren Jessica, William and Rebecca, step-grandchildren and the whole Mavor family. A wonderful friend and beloved “golf father” to many and will be hugely missed. Family and friends are invited to a service to celebrate Glen’s life at 3pm on 2nd September 2024, at Holy Trinity Church, Haddington, and afterwards at Colstoun House.
BEALE Richard Basil William died peacefully after a short illness on 10th August in Perth, Western Australia, at the age of 79. Much-loved husband of the late Siao-Li, father of Jenny and Alice and grandfather of Lily, Euan, Hazel, Eloise and Celia. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. KILNER Charles Edward died peacefully at home on 20th August 2024. He was a much-loved husband to Linda; father to James, Annabel and Charles; a grandfather; a brother; and a wonderful friend to many. Funeral on 12th September at St John’s, Upper Hopton, Mirfield at 2pm.
LONGMAN Rose Eleanor (née Arthur) died peacefully on 14th August 2024, aged 93, after a day at the beach. Beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, fount of joy to family and friends and inspiration to all. Devoted wife and carer of the late Rev Ted Longman. Funeral at St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Shepton Mallet, noon on Wednesday 4th September.
MACDONALD Euan James Stuart MBE. Peacefully at home on Wednesday 21st August 2024, after a long battle with MND, aged 50. Beloved husband of Liz, much-loved and devoted father of Alec and the late Finlay. Adored son of Donald and Louise, dearly-loved brother of Angus, Fiona and Kiki, loved by all his family and friends. Funeral service at St Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh, on Tuesday 3rd September at 11am. Donations to the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Research and Euan’s Guide.
MITCHARD Anthony Keith (Tony) died peacefully on 12th August 2024, aged 89, at home, surrounded by family. Loved dearly by Kathleen, Tony’s wife of 68 years; his children Andrea, Susan, Michael, John and Alison; his sons-in-law Jeffrey and David; his daughter-in-law Sarah; his grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren. Tony, who was chief executive of Avon Rubber plc between 1986 and 1994, will be missed greatly by all his family and friends. The funeral service will take place at Haycombe Crematorium, Hill Top Chapel, Bath at 11:30am on Friday 6th September. Family flowers only please. PILBROW Lindsay (née Hiscox). On 4th August 2024, Lindsay of Wootton Rivers, Wiltshire, died peacefully at home. Much loved by her husband Nicholas, by her sister and brother, and by her nephews and niece and other family members, she will be sorely missed.
